How to find which app is leaching data

Hello Guys,

Last few weeks I have noticed that every morning between 7-8 am a certain amount of data has been used up on my phone. But I am 100% sure I have not used my Mobile Data at that time. This also happens on days where I haven't turned on my Mobile Data at all.

Any suggestions to what to do or how to find out which app is causing this?
I have a Nexus 5x and never had this problem before.

Any suggestions would really help.

there might be some apps that connects and get latest info/content itself from their servers. Might be any social media apps..
Or could be any scamming app that sends your info silently..

Check under settings>network & internet > data usage.

See if anything stands out.
