How to fix your Bricked Phone

I often see people pleading for help on the forums because they have bricked their phone. Here I will explain two ways that your phone may be saveable.

Fastboot:

1. Hold down the camera button and the power button and keep pressing them down until the screen goes black. If this works, good news, your phone can be fixed.

Please note. If it was a .exe like this that bricked your phone in the first place I would recommend using it on a more powerful PC, otherwise it probably won

i need help... i went to root my Samsung transform and i opened up sw upgrade and i started it, but it got stuck on 98% complete, so i looked it up and this person had the same problem, and they said they unplugged it and retried it and it worked so i attempted the same thing and my phone is completely black, wont do a thing.

I would post on the Samsung Transform forum, we use the GT540 and getting into the differant boot modes will be different.

Also OP you forgot about booting into Download mode and flashing with KDZ as an option.

THANKS TO fishears FROM XDA! u must check him out. I thought i Bricked my phone gt540 because it only went into Download mode and whenever i powered it on it wouldnt go past the LG Logo, and then i tried this OMG my phone is back THANKS FISHEARS YOU ROCK, Get this i even put my phone in the shop for a week and they couldnt fix it so they say, Charged me 20 bucks and 20 just to get there and pick it up. So anyway follow instructions BELOW from FISHEARS im the happiest chick ever......


[HOW-TO] Repair your device if you don't see LG logo, boot animation | Recovery doesn't show up

• Download the French_20A and the out.kdz
• Take out your battery, SIM and SD card
• Plug USB into PC (but not phone yet)
• Hold (VOL DOWN) button and plug USB into phone | *Phone goes into Download Mode
• Run KDZ Updater
  • In TYPE dropdown menu, choose CS_Emergency mode
  • Load French V20A ROM and flash it
• When it's finished pull out USB again and hold (VOL DOWN) and reinsert USB to put phone back in Download Mode
• Launch KDZ Updater (still in CS_Emergency mode)
  • Load out.kdz and flash it

You should now have your boot animations back and you can flash whatever ROM you want to use.

I have same problem, dead phone.
No furthet than step 4. No download mode.
1. I downloaded french file
2.Take out battery, sim and SD
3.Plug USB in PC(not yet phone)
4.Hold (VOL DOWN) and plug USB into phone, but phone not goesinto download mode...
any sugestion for me ????

i have the same problem.

when i was flashing my gt 540 to android 2.1 i unpluged the usb cable and my phone died .
and i have another problem the up and down vol up & down keys dont work at all



is there another way to rebore my phone with out holdin down the vol keys
or i should throw my phone away
