Yes. You dont have to have the bootloader unlocked if you have s-off. Reqlly the purpose on this phone for the unlocked bootloader is to get it rooted and get s-off. If you use an app called "flash g.u.i", you can install a custom recovery. Keep in mind that there are a few roms that are recovery specific, so youll want to check out the rom forum first.I realize I'm coming at this late in the game... will be travelling internationally and figured I'd dig out this old phone for wifi and GPS.
Got as far as fastboot, and in adb when I enter command "fastboot devices" I get nothing - however it did recognize the device and give me the serial number prior to going into fastboot mode.
The drivers in the original post didn't work for me, so I got the ones from strabo231's post just before mine.
One other question... I had rooted this phone before, then unrooted because I was going to sell it... long story short, I still have s-off (visible on fastboot screen) but it still says LOCKED in the pretty pink letters. Does that mean I can skip any of these steps?
Yeah that's the app. I had to go back and read what you originally said again. When i suggested that, i had originally taken that you were rooted already out of it. Flashing it off the sd like scotty suggested is your best bet then.Hmm I tried that, it says I still need root. I'm assuming this is the app you're talking about?
