Help How to get back to 2.2 after installing leaked RUU

So after installing the leaked ruu 4.06.605.2, I need to go back to 2.2 to complete a 5 minute process. So when I used the PB31IMG process my hboot says:
Main version is older!
Update fail!
Also when I try the 2.2 ruu on the computer, it gives Error 170: USB Connection error. Ive tried charge only and USB debugging off and on, Disk drive with USB Debugging off and on, new USB cables, still doesnt work.

So is there another way to get back to 2.2 besides ordering a replacement device?

You may be stuck until a root method is found, or until the new RUU is released. But then you will still not be able to get back to 2.2 until root is achieved, this is why we tried to warn everybody to root before updating. Then you could easily downgrade.
