How to get my Desire to work in S.Korea??

As far as I know my desire is unlocked from vodafone as it accepts my girlfriends T-mobile SIM.

I have a S.Korean SIM on KT Olleh network but when I insert it into the phone it says no signal and every minute or so i get a prompt screen for available networks. One is SKTelecom and the other is KR KTF (Im 99% sure KR KTF is the network the SIM is). However when i choose this option it says "Your Sim card does not allow a connection to this network"


Any suggestions on how I could solve this?

I am currently running the latest stable version of InsertCoin if this is helpful info.
 
Yeah the KR SIM works in the phone that my work gave me, but i want to use my desire because the other phone is poop.

Also tried putting it in my girlfriends blackberry but her phone is SIM locked as it wont accept my vodafone SIM.
