Root How to get your wifi working on a newly installed rom!!

i have android revolution hd newest version and my wifi doesnt work!!

apparently i have to install some firmware and stuff

how do i do that??

Well, I see you have the HTC One M8 correct?
Do you have the link to the rom you have? (so we are looking at the same thing )
What firmware and stuff do you speak of?

The answer is the same as what I posted earlier when you asked in the other thread.

You can get Sunshine s-off and flash firmware yourself or you can go back to stock with an RUU, update, unlock again, reinstall TWRP, and reinstall your rom.

I hate it, and have never done it. The whole idea makes me crazy.

I've been s-off on all my HTCs since 2010 and recommend it for this very reason.

But others here have sorted out how to do an RUU and I guess some people find it the way to go.

How much is your time worth? Sunshine s-off at $25 is pretty cheap when you look at the time you'll save.

So make a nandroid backup of Android Revolution, install the stock rooted rom, Sunshine, and restore your backup.

Just like it said.

Are you rooted, with a custom recovery? Did you run a nandroid backup of your stock rooted Rom before installing anything else? You need to be on stock or close to stock as possible for Sunshine to work, so a restore will work best.

He's rooted with ARHD and TWRP and wasn't making nandroids or md5 checks until I found what he was doing in the s-off thread.

So, the stock rom nandroid ship has already sailed.

Where in my simple instructions did I include the step to update the stock rom??

Go to the XDA forum -

Find the M8 development forum for your carrier. Just like you must have done to get ARHD.

Look for the stock rom.

Backup ARHD.

Install stock rom.

Run Sunshine.

Restore ARHD.

Just like I said the first time.

I don't think that we communicate well.

Getting s-off and doing firmware tricks is easy with the right guide - but has the potential to really screw things up if done wrong.

So great communication is absolutely necessary.

Some people can follow me. And some of my very best friends here say that they need a Decoder Ring to understand me. I am not making that up.

I wasn't trying to bust on ya - I just don't want you to get a bricked phone when all you might need is someone that makes more sense to you.
