how to hear callers name announced

How do I set the eris to announce the callers name audibly? also, how do you get the text to speech working. Thanks
 
To have your pphone announce the name of the caller, use a sound or voice recorder app on the phone. Record somebody saying the name of the person. Then set that file as the ringtone for that person.

Im not sure about text to speech.
 
I have a friend that had his eris announce caller via a female "robotic" voice. He said it was set when he got his. Unfortunatly he is in Afganistan and I can't see his settings.
I did the official update to 2.1 but his was purchased with 2.1, maybe that is the differance.
Anyone have this feature set already? it would be nice not to have to pickup the phone to see who is calling.
