Root How to I root with this update

I brought this phone yesterday and is hard to root

The only way that I have seen is with this method I saw on XDA, which looks dangerous to me; some have reported bricked phones, and it doesn't give write status to the system partition, so it's not as useful as most root methods.

You're on your own with this - I certainly wouldn't risk my phone for this, but good luck if you try.
