Help How to install 3rd party app without rooting

iPhone/Palm user here，100％ android noob. I know that for WebOS one can easily load the apk thru quickinstaller using a PC， as long as the phone is in develop mode. Is there a similar way to do this on the Nexus without rooting？ Any help will be appreciated！

Settings - security, check the unknown sources box.

Just need to download the *.apk to your phone somewhere (or transfer it via USB cable), navigate to it using a file explorer app like Astro... "click" it and select "Install"

Thank you so much guys! I was able to install Xiami Music and Google Wallet without problem. This is so much fun compared to iOS and even eaiser than WebOS! I am glad I made the switch
