How to know move back from .232 to .905 for ICS OTA?

I looked at a lot of the current ICS threads and saw people say FZX (or whatever) back to .905, but what is that and just looking for how to go back?
I never used HOB to get to .232, I just found the leaked .232 .zip file from some website and installed it.

So, now I want to get the office ICS OTA but need to get back to .905.

Question about the link you provided. For the downloads they've got; the .902 the .905 then they've got, Stock Modified .902 and Stock Modified .905 Which one do I need to download if, like you, I'm stock no root with .232
 
Go to the thread in this forum called some links to ics and back

Download and install rdslite

Download 905 fxz

Now open rdslite.

At the top is a blank adress bar. Click the ... and select the fxz file choose decompress only

Now plug your phone in to your comp. Turn it off. Turn it back on by holding down volume button and power button at the same time. Should pop up a black screen with with text

Set phone down. Now rds lite should recognize your phone and click start

Takes 20 mins or so. That simple m8!
 
I tried the modified version first and it just caused some issues. It worked, but it wasn't working correctly. I ended up just doing the regular Stock FXZ and all is good. I re-rooted and used titanium backup to replace apps.

Note: I noticed TitaniumBackup kept failing on certain apps during the restore process (Chrome, Stopwatch app, etc). Well, I kept having to force close TitaniumBackup and then restart the backup and uncheck the app that it froze on.

I finally realized what was going on. The apps were Ice Cream Sandwich specific apps and it would lockup Titanium Backup. Just a FYI!
 
The Bionics in my house never auto update, I think one is on 902, still and maybe the other is on 905, not sure, right now... but I don't think they'd want me to reset them and have them lose all their apps. Any suggestions on how to get them on the official path/how to get updates OTA to work properly?

The one on .905 is on the official path. The one on .902 needs to get to .905 to be on the official path.

use this file and put it on your sd-ext card. when you do this all your apps and data will be safe.

boot into stock recovery. with the phone off hold both volume buttons and then the power button until the menu appears.
use volume down to get to recovery and volume up to select. when the adroid with the ! appears press both volume buttons again. now you are in stock recovery.
use volume down to install zip from sd card (or something similar) and power button to select.
locate the file you put on the sd-ext card using the volume buttons and the power button to select.
let the update install and then reboot.

Hi! I have tried to install the .905 file you linked in your post above to revert back from The ICS I flashed to GB for the official OTA, but each time I do I get the "E:signature verification failed, Installation Aborted" message. I have tried other .905 files and received the same message. I also received that message when I attempted to flash ICS a while back. I am probably doing something incredibly stupid, but I am not sure what it would be. It is .905 that will get me to the official OTA, right? :confused:

Any help you can provide would be truly appreciated! Thanks!

That's ICS leak .232 after looking at your screenshot.

Not to hijak dfib's help but this below procedure worked for me from .232 to .905:

The video is nice if you want to see the procedure done before you do it, to make sure you're doing it right.

I personally do mine from a laptop so there will be no power failures mid process. Also, I heard if you use a desktop, it's best to connect the USB cable to the BACK of the desktop unit (not the front)...it has to do with how the USB is connected to the motherboard. On a laptop, it doesn't matter.

Thank you for all of your help! A some of the links won't load, and the RSD lite 5.7 appears to only be for PCs (I have a mac). I have snooped around the web a bit and the only help I see for macs is to load bootcamp, but I would rather not do that. Is that my only option?

My suggestion would be PM "dfib"...he may have some alternatives.
