Sweet! :D. Now to get the rest of the apps themed and maybe get some help from b_randon to make it all into a flashable .zip.

Thanks. One thing is the lockscreen is a bit bigger so I will have to shrink that down. And screenshots should help me figure out what else is screwed up.

Ok so it looks like definitely the lockscreen and the text color will have to be changed. And I'll just have to look at everything else and make sure that they are all the same size and such.

Ok I'm on test zip #4 only 1 has booted i combined the framework-res.apk from CM7 & Guiding Light, It booted but no theme to speak of. Inside Guiding Light there are 2 folders META-INF, & system. Inside the system folder are 3 more folders app, framework, & media, I know how to intergrade the apps, & the media folder is just a boot ani. & sound file for boot. Inside the framework folder are 3 res files which each contain a bunch of PNG's, not sure if i add them all to framework or not, If i add all the 3 res files into the framework-res.apk it will not boot. Anybody got any advice for me ? I could use some help please. What about the updater-script ? Change it, Leave it ?

The updater script can be left alone. Its for setting permissions and such...

And yes you can just merge all the images. The ones that our phone doesn't need it wont use. So they wont hurt anything. And you should get somewhat of a theme. You may also have to modify our systemui.apk

How do i modifiy the systemui.apk ? which files ? & yes we have partial theme started, but like i told marc12868 that the LCD density is off it's set to 240 when i opened rom toolbox & no matter how i ajust it, it never gets any better, I've seen this theme in action & where missing the glowing blue keyboard & the notification bar should say Eclipse at bottom when it's pulled down. There are a bunch of apps that are in the Guiding Light theme, Why ? It's just a theme why all the apps ? Anyway i need some help on what to do next to continue themeing the rom.

Well the density isn't off just this theme is made for a phone that has a resolution of 540x960. The MT only has a resolution of 480x800 that's why it's a bit off. It needs a bunch off apps to theme each specific one. example you have to manually theme the messaging app for it to be themed. You can't just theme the framework-res.apk and have everything themed. You can start just taking .pngs from each app and replacing the .pngs with each respective app. And keep in mind that there may need to be some shrinking done, since it's made for a higher resolution.

So just resize all the PNG's ? Or do you mean a different kind of file ? What about the 3 files inside the guiding light framework-Res.apk, there are files in there that don't exsit in CM7 what do we do with those ?

I just want to scrap that .zip completely and make a new flashable .zip. Not all the icons have to be resized, just compare the size to the cm7 ones and see if there is a pixel difference. I mean 1 or 2 pixel difference won't make much difference, but like the llockscreen was like 100ish more either way. Also don't mess with the pngs that have the name like "uagrfugvhuab.9.png". They don't edit properly and you need a special editor. Basically I'll finish up the framework-res.apk which won't be too hard. And you can start on the mms.apk or something. Just kind of compare the png dimensions for each and make sure they are the same or at least close. To see the dimensions you can just click it and at the bottom of windows explorer it should say the name, date, and dimension. If they are all the same or close then just replace the pngs from the cm7 messaging app with the pngs from the guilding light theme messaging apk

Ok I get the size thing & dimensions, but I still am not sure what to do about the moto-res & blur-res as these files don't exsist in CM7 ? &when I put them in it don't like it

I am guessing the moto-res and blur-res have to do with motoblur.

If you get all the stuff right in the Framework-res like Marc said and see you are missing anything, you might need to add some of the icons from that into the framework as well. But that is only a guess.

So mimic the CM7 framework-res.apk with the files from Guiding Light ? Then whatever I'm missing go hunting in the other Res files ?

Ok I'll start the compile when I get off work, Now about the resize thing what windows program is user friendly for me to resize some of the PNG's ?

So take the apps that corresponds with the PNG image's ? & put those apps in the system app folder ? Is that right, or just snatch them all ? Is there a faster way to compare the PNG file sizes to know which ones I need to modify ?:D

basically take the app from each that are the same (like mms.apk from the theme and mms.apk from cm7), and use 7zip or whatever else you want and pull the files from each (What I would do is just make folders labeled something like "cm7 mms.apk" and "guilding light mms.apk" and put the files that are in each corresponding .apk in the corresponding folder). There should be a folder in there called drawable-hdpi and maybe one for landscape too. I don't really no of a faster way of comparing the size other than having both folders open and clicking on each corresponding .png and looking at the dimensions for each and shrinking the ones that need to be.
