I'd say glue on the magnet, less steps than running an app each time. Mine defaulted to staying on when in the car dock and plugged into power. Either of those two it doesn't stay on, but both it does. Doesn't even have to be maps, when I went into the data roam zone I just left the music player running and it stayed on all the time.
