So I screwed up my phone by putting a bad font on it. Continuous boot loop
I booted to custom recovery, and did a nandroid backup. I them copied that to my PC
I looked in the system.ext3.tar file, and there was my bad font file, clear as day.
I used 7-zip to replace the bad font file with the original font file. I never uncompressed the tar manually, I did it through the 7-zip interface
I then created a new md5 checksum, slapped it on the sdcard, booted into CWM, and tried to restore the modified /system, it strated restoring for a few minutes, then threw a "Error while restoring /system!" message
Does anyone know how to modify a file in a nandroid tar backup and then restore it through CWM?
