Root how to move a ringtone into system/media folder

could anyone tell me how to move a ringtone into my system/media/audio/ringtones folder? i've done it before, but it was a few months back and i have no idea how i did it

when i try to with the file explorer apps i've used (astro, es file xplorer, etc) it tells me something abotu a read-only file system

are you rooted?
pretty sure you have to be rooted to edit any of the non-SD card directories

Yeah I'm rooted. IIRC I did something in recovery but I checked and nothing familiar popped up

Is it enough to just put it in the same path you originally listed but instead of /system/... putting it into /sdcard/...?

Or is there another reason you're looking to put it directly into /system?
