I have an existing facebook contact, but have these unselected on my phone.
I have a friendI want to add from FB to Google contact on phone, and I am gobsmacked at how difficult it is to find out how to do it!?

He has phoned me, so he shows up in my call register under his name and pic, but I can find no option to chnage the type of contact anywhere......help pls.

I've never tried this before.

Try and go under the dialer, swipe over to People. Find the contact for that person, select it. Top right hit the three dot menu, select Link. See if you can link the contact to google. If not, create a new contact under google, then do what I mentioned above and it will link the two together making one contact.

Hopefully that works. :)

Yeah, had tried that before, and just again...it needs doe while faceboom contacts selected to see relevany contact. BUT, it only provides links to Facebook, Whatsapp & Other Contacts.....no google!?!?
And why is facebook here, when that is where it is coming from?
This shoud be easy.

Facebook contacts are read only so you cannot edit or copy them to Google. Your best bet is to just create a new contact profile on your phone and then it will be backed up and saved under Google contacts. You will have to manually add a contact photo as well.

If you keep Facebook contacts on your device you can merge them with existing Google contacts, but the Fb contact info is still read only.

I don't use Facebook at all, so I have no experience with linking contacts from there.

It indeed looks like adding a new contact will be the easiest way to get it done. Strange it's set up this way.

Yeah....sorted via adding new contact, then linking.....just assumed by now this would be easier to convert a contact. THANKS
