How to 'Press button 1' call handling ?

Hi all

When phoning a contact centre I was given options ie press button 1 /2 etc.

Have been able to do this is the pass by pulling up key pad but it no longer works.

Any ideas which this is and how in future I can do it.....

Can you not press "dialer " while in a call? I've just tried it when calling my mum, works like that.
Or try hold "mEnu" to force the keyboard open, not sure if that works though.

Please clarify "no longer works" or do we need to guess?

Please be explicit. Where does it fail? Does the keypad come up? Does the 1 button press? Does 1 appear on screen after press? Then does nothing happen? Is this for all call centres?
