Help how to receive headset button long press?

I want my MP3 player, PowerAmp, to respond to the headset button. Long press originally brought up Google Voice (or something like that), so I had to use double-press. Since then, I've frozen the Google Search apps with Titanium and now the long press does not launch anything at all, which is fine. But when I set PowerAmp to respond to the long press, there's no response there either. Is there some way to get control over the headset long press?

Thanks for that. I didn't realize there were so many headset control apps. My headset has three buttons, so maybe I'll experiment around.

But my MP3 player has a built-in setting allowing it to respond to either long press or double press. Since this is the only app I use the headset buttons for, it would be nice if I didn't have to install another app to recover a basic functionality.

EDIT: I just found this info in the description of JAYS: Click-and-hold actions will not work in Android 4.1+ as Google Now intercepts them." When I said long press above, I meant the same thing as click-and-hold. Is there no way to get the thing back from Google?

Not sure. I'm rooted with another model, I tried Now, wasn't worth it to me, so I took it off (you may be able to try a root trick called freezing to make it go away, if you don't care about Now).

Don't know if that helps, maybe someone has a better idea, hope so. :)

Actually, I have tried freezing some Google apps with Titanium as I mentioned above, if that's what you mean. But I can't find the Google Now app in Titanium's list of apps. Does it go by some other name?

Sorry, not sure at this point. I wonder if it's integrated as a service. I had it as an option with my present rom (Aroma installer based) so I may be just pants on that suggestion. Sorry. :(

PS - sorry, read the op an hour back, didn't retain what you said there. :p
