How to remove App icon ?

photogant

The problem is that there is a faded icon on the App list which I cannot remove. As you can see, there is a faded App Icon "Planet3" which stored on SD card (I presumed), but I cannot find any trace of that on SD card.

Please help, it is bugging me.

Typically, you can always drag an icon to the trash and it’s gone. But doing that doesn’t remove the app itself. To do that, go to settings > applications, find the app and uninstall it. That, of course, would also remove its icons.

But you may be talking about something else...

Perhaps I did not explain myself properly. The faded icon is on the App List (not the desktop) therefore the only way to remove App is by the usual App removal method. But in this case, the faded icon cannot be removed.

What device do you have? That looks like the gs3.

If so, open up your app drawer, tap your menu key, then you'll have an option to "hide applications"

Btw, tsk tsk @ task killer :p

If you long-press, do you then have the opportunity to move it onto your home screen, where you can then again long-press to "remove" it?

That won't remove it from the drawer though, only will place a shortcut on the home screen then remove it.

I know exactly what you mean, mate. They are un-uninstallable because they don't feature in the Settings Apps panel while they DO feature, kinda faded, in the apps list/drawer. I have seen it a couple dozen times. But they always disappear after a while. None of those couple dozen are still there. But it may take a couple of days.
So just ignore them. They will go away of their own accord.
