My S2 is running Checkrom 6 and I am looking for away to mute the boot jungle just after the boot animation which continues in to the home screen. I have tried Silent Boot from the Market which doesn't work if the battery has been taken out, tried the silent boot patch from The Kitchen which doesn't work and also been looking for rename or delete the PowerOn.wav file in /System/Media but there is nothing with that file name there.

Stock power on is /system/etc/poweron.wav, not system/media/poweron.wav
If you do not have this file in /system/etc, this would suggest to me your boot animation itself could be making the sound, but I have a feeling these only show graphics.
What boot animation do you have? Try a different one to see if it alters anything

I think I am getting somewhere. The sound that is starting on boot is a ring tone called Over The Horizon, but even after deleting that sound it still plays. I have also wiped the cache and no other file with that name can be found. Is there a particular file that tells the file to play?
