Root How to remove info Settings > About Phone > Status > Phone Number???

I'm selling my Boost TU and I want to sell it rooted with latest FF27 build (I've upgraded to Galaxy SII). I've wiped all caches and done factory resets several times, and did a CWM restore with the clean FF27 zip file; but my phone number remains listed in Settings > About Phone > Status > Phone Number. I'd like to delete it before I put it up for sale. Is there a way to do this, or is it something that will happen when the purchaser activates it? I'm afraid someone will want to return it as blacklisted or some such silliness.

This is done by putting the TU in diag mode and using cdma workshop to either zero out the phone number or changing it to some random phone number. I would elaborate but forum rules prevent me from doing so.

Thanks. CDMA Workshop is the one tool I've not really fiddled with but I'll give it a shot if that's an active function in the trial version.

I managed to get it connected to CMDMA workshop. It wasn't an obvious adjustment to make and I know my limits so I'm leaving it be. Thanks for the tip, though. I'm going to go on the assumption that since my new phone has the same number in its status that it will change on the TU when activated by new owner.

Yes, I believe your right. I've had many phones that I've bought "used" and even with a # attached it will revert to their # once they go to the Boost store to activate it. If the MEID is zeroed out, that has caused some issues I've read. But I am used to other carriers as I switched to Boost (friend gave TU with 30 days service free lol) and haven't looked back since.

When I had the "other" pre-paid services activated on 3 different phones at 3 different periods of time, i could use the service menu to easily switch headsets.

Pretty sure you can do same with 2 Boost phones with same # attached but pretty darn SURE when the new buyer activates it will remove your #. I wouldn't worry.

Even if the "buyer" didn't activate and had ur # (i have multiple phones with other #'s tied to them and don't have issues) tied to phone, when you activate/d new one, your # is now yours again and not much he can do with it (for a normal guy).
