Help how to remove small contact picture in text message application

does anybody know how to get rid of the contact picture beside each message in the messaging app? not necessarily the one on the main messaging screen but once you go into each individual conversation. I usually don't assign pictures to my contacts and the small smiley face next to each message is driving me crazy.

I've always wanted the faces next to the messages in the stock app and never had them. It could have saved me some embarrassing messages to the wrong people because I never had the pics in the message app, only the main screen. Can you take a screenshot?

Yeah my default Message app doesn't have pictures in conversation either. OP is probably using a 3rd party app or his carrier has its own customization on the message app.

I am using a 3rd party app so I could get the faces in conversations and get group text.

What's the 3rd party app you use. My G2 had the profile pics and I notice the SIIi does also. I hate not having them.
 
I think the OP wants to remove the default generic picture that displays when the contact doesn't have a picture.

heres a screenshot of what im talking about. trying to get rid of the pictures. using the stock messaging app. used to be able to do it but now i cant find that setting for some reason.

 
I am using the stock app on T-Mobile in the US and I do not have the pics in the conversation view. Perhaps it is only on your carriers device.

My stock app on AT&T doesn't have pictures either. OP are you on Verizon? I think Verizon has the most customized stock Message App because I read that it could actually work with group messaging. And with group messaging you NEED the pictures or you won't know who said what. That's probably why the pictures are there.
 
Wow, I wish mine did that. It may have saved me some embarrassing, quick backpedaling and hard thinking to get out of some things I sent to the wrong person.
 
My stock Verizon message application does not show contact pictures in the conversation thread, either in individual or group messages.
