Help How to remove taskbar button?

Today I got a Galaxy Tab 7 Plus. I have Android 3.2 installed on it. In the taskbar, there are four buttons: the 'back' button, the 'home' button, the 'app-switch' button and a 'screenshot' button.

How can I remove the screenshot button? It seems rather useless.

Right now I use mine as a camera shortcut button but I hope in the future samsung decides to make it so we can make that button into whatever shortcut we want.

is it possible to configure the pop up task windows ?
it's the one with the arrow at the bottom centre of the screen

Can't easily "remove the button" however you can choose another activity under the "Screen" settings (Quick Launch).

Sorry, where do i find this setting? When i go to settings>screen i don't see anything that will let me change that activity. Thanks!

Weird, here's what i have under settings
Brightness
Screen display
Mode
Auto rotate
Anmation
Time out
Auto adjust screen power
HorizontalCalbration

No quick launch, bummer because i' d really love to change it!

Hmmm, strange. Do you have a 3G model, maybe the carriers like to lock them down more?

I have the QuickLaunch on mine, so just trying to figure why it is not there under yours.

What is your Model Number under Settings > About Device ?

You have to have the updated software. I never got it OTA, I had to hook it up to the computer after downloading Kies.

I'm wanting to do that too. Change calculator icon to realcalc. Music to the google music.[/QU

Bumping this.

I too would love to be able to change the Quick Launch apps.
Have spent a bit of time looking around, but not seen any options for it yet.
Have a feeling we're stuck with the current ones for the time being.

Like you I've been trying to customise/remove the app function with no luck. Let's hope the ICS update sorts this out.

Here's to hoping that there will be an ICS update. Don't know if the official word has come down on that yet, a lot of waffling around on that one.

That link is to an article that is almost 2 months old. Initially Samsung was not going to update the Galaxy tabs, then they flip-flopped and said they were. Since that article they have come out as being very wishy-washy about it. I would imagine it is easier to create the Samsung 2 tab with ICS instead of upgrading the current batch of tabs that have already been sold. I hope I am wrong about this. They are not making any current pronouncements about updating us, like they were 2 months ago. Ya' think the timing before Christmas was coincidental?

The Tab 7+ is my 4th Android device but my 1st Samsung one. I have to say that although they are good at churning out hardware, their UI design has much room for improvement. The homescreen, the preloaded apps, navigation, layout etc are undoubtedly functional but somehow lacks 'polish'.

This is an assessment from a user of HTC and Sony Ericsson android devices since 2009.
