Root How to remove unneeded backups?

Not sure how to access my unneeded backups to remove them because now they have about 2gb worth of these and other junk I doubt I need. Can I get to these without going into recov. , and also how do I recognize them as the ones I dint need? Thanks

Not sure what recovery you're using, but I can tell you where mine are for the ClockworkMod recovery. On my SD Card there is a folder named clockworkmod. Inside of that folder is a subfolder called backup. My backups are there. The file names are indicative of the date that they were created.

I don't flash a lot, so I tend to keep the last 4 backups on my SD card and move older ones to my PC hard drive.
