Root How to restore SMS(Sense - Vanilla)

Hey guys, decided to try out the new Defrost yesterday, coming from a Sense-based ROM. Flashed it and discovered that because HTC have created their own SMS app, my messages could not be restored to the new ROM.

I have restored my old ROM from nandroid and am wondering if anyone has a workaround for this, because I love CM6 ^_^
