Help how to revert to older version of gmail

With gmail 2.3.5 having killed 3rd party access my notification system is now dead (missed it and go launcher dock notifications).

Could someone please tell me how to revert back to 2.3.4?

I have root if that helps at all.

Not sure if the first post of this linked thread contains gmail app or the email app component, worth a try?

I was able to find a gmail 2.3.4.1 apk. I uninstalled gmail with titanium backup and installed 2.3.4.1.

Interestingly, the notifications are still not working. I had heard that the gmail 2.3.5 app killed the notifications but is it possible for it to be something in android 2.3.5, not gmail?
