Look into my Eye
Don't worry this should be an easy one
(at least I hope so)
#1. Get the MAC version of Motorola Media Link so your MAC will see your Atrix and give access for ADB here: Motorola Media Link for Mac - Overview - Motorola Mobility, Inc. USA
#2. Download the SideLoad Wonder Mechine for MAC here: Sideload Wonder Machine for Linux & Mac! - Android Forums
#3. Download the gingerbreak.apk from here: [HOWTO] Easy Root 1.5.7 & 1.83 using GingerBreak - xda-developers
#4. Use the SLWM to install gingerbreak to the phone
#5. Insert a blank (or one that you have backuped) sdcard
#6. Run gingerbreak
You should now be rooted
I do not have a MAC and have not tried this so please post if it works and I will add it to the main Root sticky
