The drivers for the LG Phoenix are here: http://s3.amazonaws.com/lgforum.com...nal/LG _USB _Drivers_All_4.9.7.zip?1298056154 (these are for Windows PC's so i'm assuming you're not on a MAC)

Next be certain you have USB Debugging mode checked & enabled

Try putting Z4root on your SD card (the root of it: meaning DONT put it into any folder on your SD card in your phone) and using that, believe it or not, it still works.

Z4root is here: MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service run the Z4root apk file

That should work. If you still don't know what do do, go over to the XDA Forums if you can't find what you're looking for on here.

I just got a Phoenix day before yesterday and was thinking of rooting once I figure out all the in's and out's and whether its worth it for me. But I was wondering if you had success in using the above method to root. Did you run into any issues?

Has anyone gotten this phone rooted using SuperOneClick? I would really like to install the Amazon App Store and remove most of the junk AT&T has installed on this phone.

I don't think anyone would want to try that with doubt. "SHOULD" doesn't sound like its a tried and true process. Not worth bricking a phone if it doesn't, ya think?????

That should work. If you still don't know what do do, go over to the XDA Forums if you can't find what you're looking for on here.

That method did not work for me. Those drivers did not allow the computer to recognize the phone.

THESE drivers did though:

Use the LGAndroidDriver_Ver_1.0_All.zip located at:

Drivers & Resources - LG Forum

After that, download this: Download SuperOneClickv1.6.5-ShortFuse.zip for free on Filesonic.com

It is superoneclick 1.6.5 with the rageagainstthecage exploit

Install it and open superoneclick, and select the rageagainstthecage exploit to the right of all of the buttons. Click "root" and you should be on your way.
