No freezing for me. Glad you seem to have fixed that.
Leaving USB Debugging on doesn't hurt a bitIs there anything bad about leaving it on?

Are you able to work with the ZIP files? I knoiw Macs can handle thoseI just got my Samsung Exhibit II today. How can I root the phone from my Mac OS X? I noticed the files were .exe, which wouldn't work for me. Thanks.

Tried all these things to root my Samsung Exhibit II today after upgrading the firmware from 2.3.5 to 2.3.6 last night but have been unsuccessful1. Install the drivers (they're for the exhibit 1 but they work for the exhibit 2)
2. Go to your phone's settings then applications then development and enable USB debugging
3. Plug the phone in to the computer
4. Run the root
5. ?????
6. PROFIT!
If SU binary does not update correctly, install an app from the Android Market called "BusyBox Installer" and when you open the app you have to change the install option to "bin" (the default is "xbin") and then click "install" (you do this from within the app after you install it).
^ THANK YOU TO FulciLives FOR REMINDING ME ABOUT THE SU BINARY^
DRIVERS: TMO_T759_ADB_Tether_Drivers.zip
ROOT: Zerg rush root.rar
EDIT: I got this information from various threads in the exhibit 1 forums and I take NO credit for any of it. All I did was compile all of the information and put it in our own forum.

The ZergRoot batch file is able to run its script OK (As long as USB Tethering isn't enabled) & still the phone isn't rooted
USB Debugging is enabled on the phone
Any ideas as to what else I might try or am I stuck until ZR is updated?
Cheers

How do I do the bold part?
Download the kernel.
Copy it over to the SD card.
Reboot into Samsung recovery.
Select the kernel zip file to install.
