Root How to S-Off HTC one M8

Hey. As I was unable to find an answer to it I decided to ask. Would there be someone available for taking me through the process of turning s-off? First, I see the guys are talking about different things like kitkat or sunshine or coin in to s-off the phone. I do not know which one of those to use or what they are. What is the difference? EarlyMon mentions Firewater but, adding it may not work?

Firewater is no longer supported and didn't work on all M8 phones when it was. You must have taken at least one update since the M8 came out, so it wouldn't work anyway.

Best way to get Sunshine - unlock phone via HTCdev.com, install TWRP, make a backup with TWRP before doing anything else, install SuperSU via a zip file, not if TWRP wants to do it magically.

Get Sunshine, get s-off, done.

Other roms besides stock may or may not work depending on how stock-like they are under the hood.

Sunshine was designed to work with stock.

It's Easter so I'm not giving close support today, I was just in the neighborhood.

Meanwhile, post back with your entire phone status as you know it, including the carrier.
