How to save and sync contacts

I am using gmail sync. I uploaded all the contacts to gmail and synced. This worked to get all the contacts in my phone, some emails as well. But when I add new number or delete some it is not updated to gmail account. So I tried to save Vcard in sd card to be restored if I restore the phone.

If It is possible to save phone numbers and emails separately, I would be delighted. Please suggest something to cleverly manage contacts

to save contacts use the options in contacts app to back it up on sdcard

if u are still on LG company rom, you can always use LG PC Suite..
it sucks bigtime but is gr88 for saving contacts..

If you add a new contact or number, it will only be reflected in your google account if you save it under your google account (we can save under our google account or our phone account)

You can save numbers with different names than they are currently stored in your google account so that the emails dont get clubbed with them automatically.

Or you can choose which all accounts you want to be visible in your contacts list at a time. So you can store email ids under your google account and numbers under your phone account, select only phone account when you want only numbers to be displayed and vice versa.
