Help How to set custom alert tones.

Ok so I originally had an incredible but my fiance like it so much I swapped with her for the original moto droid. Well before that I had no problem putting custom alerts for email and text messages. Well now I have my own Incredible and I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it again. Was something changed when the update to froyo went through or something? Someone help me out...I can't stand the preinstalled sounds.

Yea I'm familiar how to assign a custom ringtone to a particular contact. What I'm referring to is custom alerts for text message and email notifications.

I use ChompSMS. Each app is different but I just long press the message sender when Chomp is opened and a menu pops up to set the ringtone for the sender.

Sorry to bring up a old thread.. but I just got this phone.. and I Downloaded the sound I want and its in my download app... how do I set my text alert from here?
