How to set up N4 voicemail through at&t?

When I check my settings it shows an out of state voicemail number. I know I can use GV voicemail, but I prefer to leave it separate.

I am confused as to your question. I set mine up on AT&T just like every other phone I've bought. Over half my phones are unlocked / unsupported by AT&T. I buy from a distributor in Hong Kong.

I press "1" and it says my mailbox doesn't exist?

I've had that occur in the past, called AT&T, they reset the account and that fixed it. I'd give them a call.
