how to setup Google Voice as Primary Voice Message on EVO?

How Do I setup Google Voice as the primary VoiceMail on Sprint Evo? I heard that Sprint is offering free conditional Google VoiceMail transfering? Is this true? Can you please post the steps. Thanks

Go into your GV app and click on menu>settings> and fill in all that stuff. You'll get some errors saying Sprint doesn't work with GV but it works fine. Just follow GV's prompts.

As for conditional call forwarding, dial *28 + number + send.

To turn it off, dial *38 + send.

Right, but all your voice messages will go to GV and not the stock VM app in the phone. You can even have it set up to text and email you the messages which saves you minutes by not having to call in to retrieve your messages.

You have to set up the text/email through GV on your computer.

I went through set up in the google voice app. It told me there was an error, and it is not, in fact, sending voicemails to google voice. My friend has an Evo as well and she has no such problem. What's up!

Go to your google voice page and click on the settings. Choose google voice settings. Add your phone to the "phones" tab. Then click the link to activate voice mail. You should be good to go. I did this myself about ten minutes ago.

Yeah, I got it working. Just had to manually type in the code that the web site gave me. As I transferred my number to Sprint, I had to "deactivate" the phone through the web interface, then activate it again. It gave me the code to type into the dialer and it worked instantly.
