Help How to Setup Voicemail?

Can someone post a quick refresher on setting up google voice for voicemail on Verizon

I have voicemail working through Google Voice, but I thought voicemails would show up in the Call Log area rather than having to start the whole Google Voice app. Does anyone know how to set that up?
