Proceed at your own risk, I am not liable for any loss of your phone's data. But I can tell you this, if you have backed up your system with Clockwork Mod Recovery, then you have nothing to worry about. Even so, this process will hardly affect your phone.

For those people like me who cannot use Connectify or Virtual Router's ad-hoc connection with HTC Wildfire S ( since HTC WFS doesnt support ad-hoc connection by default).

Using Connectify will work for most guys whose WLAN card supports access point (AP). For other guys whose WLAN card doesnt support AP, only ad-hoc, you guys follow the procedure below.

Requirements:

1. ES File Explorer

2. Rooted phone

3. The modified wpa_supplicant file from this zip file Extract the wpa_supplicant file (230kb) from here and save it to your sd-card. It should be in the zip file> system> bin> wpa_supplicant.

4. Connectify-Me If you still dont have it.

Procedure:

1. After installing ES File Explorer, go to settings and enable Up to Root in Path settings and Root Explorer in Root Settings (Enable ES File Explorer Superuser or SuperSU root permission when it asks ).

Now go to the ES File Explorer main window, move up to the Internal Rom. Find system>bin>wpa_supplicant. There copy wpa_supplicant file and paste it securely in sd-card and rename it wpa_supplicant.original (size=305kb) (this is the backup in case you wanna go back to original).

2.Find the wpa_supplicant (size=230kb) you extracted before. Copy it and paste it in the internal rom>system>bin. Overwrite the original(305kb) with the new one (230kb).

3. Restart your phone and your are done. The ad-hoc connections will be marked with *. Find them by turning your wi-fi.

4. Install Connectify if you still havent done it. Set up password and connect the connectify ad-hoc from your phone.

5. Enjoy !!!

If things dont work out for you, then just copy the original wpa_supplicant file (rename it) (305kb) and paste it in the internal rom>system>bin. Overwrite the new one (230kb) with the original one (305kb).
