Help How to silence phone?

Ok I know this is simple but can't figure out how to silence my phone after the gingerbread update. it removed my profile widget and holding down the power button doesn't work anymore.

Why don't you re-add the profile widget?

Couldn't find the widget at first. But then I expanded the settings bar under widgets and it was hiding there!
