Help how to stop getting notifications at night

Is there a way to hold or stop getting notifications while I am trying to sleep? I use my Droid X with the multimedia dock as an alarm clock. But I keep getting woken up buy different notifications. I like them during the day but now while I am trying to sleep. Does anyone know a way to deal with this?

I use "my profiles". I was tired of turning the phone down and turning off wifi every morning at the office and turning off notifications at night.

I use Quick Profiles and I have a "SLEEP" profile that turns off all of the sounds except for the phone ringer. I also have a "WORK" profile that sets everything to vibrate. The only problem with this app is it doesn't seem to change the Facbook notification so I still get those sounds if I receive a message on Facebook wihich is annoying.

Get Bedside. It blocks incoming calls and SMS, BUT it lets you setup a whitelist that it will allow calls and SMS from.

In addition it will turn the screen off after a set time. You can setup a button to turn the display on. I have mine so the camera button will turn on the display. Makes it easy to see the time in the middle of the night.

Sound manager. It's an app that allows you to change notifications volumes based on time of day. Turn email down and leave alarms on.

Timeriffic is what you prob want. It's equivelant to what BlackBerry's sound profiles are well known for. Changes your sound levels/tones based upon time periods you set.

I've seen a lot of recommendations and mentions of apps that change your settings based on the time and/or location, but are there any that do this with a widget? I do not work at remotely similar times - it can be any shift, depending on the day. I really don't want to reset the whole thing every time there's a schedule change, but would be happy to press a button to make those notification-setting-changes all at once.

Also, if notifications (sounds) are turned off, I assume that means they won't show up in the notification BAR either. (Please correct me if that's wrong.) Any suggestions for a widget-controlled/toggled app that allows turn off of notification sounds, but still alerts you to them when you toggle it back to allow notifications later? Or is this how they already work?

Finally...I might start another thread for this if I can't find a good answer in search...but how the heck do you turn off the blinky green notification LED? It's keeping us awake at night, so I've resorted to putting the phone face down on the nightstand, which defeats the purpose of the docking station...

TIA

Light Flow can turn off the LED during a quiet time that you set in the app. It can also disable sounds and vibrations, or any combination. Calls and the notification bar aren't affected.

I almost installed this yesterday, but decided against it due to the required Accessibility setting. (Rather, I installed it, figured I'd try it WITHOUT enabling that setting, and found out immediately that it'll yell at the user every 5 minutes until the setting is turned on - so I uninstalled.)

I'm not new to computers, but new to Android, and so I don't know if the concerns that the Accessibility setting is akin/the same as a keylogger are reasonable or paranoid. The text description of it on the phone certainly reads like it's going to keylog, but to what end I don't know.

Prior to installing Light Flow, can anyone clear this up? (Or point me in the right direction?)

Thanks again.
