Help How to stop running apps?

I am a first time Andriod user, I don't know if my apps are turned off? If i go to Applications and Manage Apps it shows a bunch of apps running? But if i go to About Phone, and Battery Use It doesn't show any of these apps running?... So are they really off? Please help Thanks!!

You really don't need to worry about what is running and what is not. Android is intelligent enough to know what is needed, what isn't, and when.

Just use, and enjoy, your new phone.

I'm worried about the same thing, for instance if I have maps and facebook running, isn't that draining my batterry and data usage? How do you stop apps when they're not in use?

Press the Back button, the app will close unless it's needed or part of a service.
