Help How to stop SMS notifications?

Is there a way to stop the native SMS notifications on the Rezound? I am using Handcent SMS and get double notifications. One from the native app and one from Handcent. I can't seem to find a setting anywhere for this.
Any help would be great!

There is an option in handcent settings to disable other messaging notifications but the first thing I'd do is open the default message app, click settings and uncheck the first box.

I'm not running handcent currently due to a bug in handcent sending messages to random contacts so I can't help you on the other end. But I remember there being an option in there settings that disables other notifications.

Messages > Menu button > Settings > Notifications.

I think you can go into messages/settings and turn off notifications. Leave them on in handcent.
