How to switch recovery

The recovery is tied to the kernel so you are going to be changing kernels to accomplish this. You have to find a recovery kernel that meets two things. It has to be compatible with the ROM you have, and it needs to have the recovery you want. For most anything Agat's tREC works just like CWM. If you are wanting CWM for ROM flashing, it is best recommended to use the recovery kernel that the ROM's OP instructions say to use, and just flash that kernel in when you are going to flash the ROM. For just having a recovery to do a nandroid with then just use the recovery kernel for your ROM.

If you happen to be on TW Jelly Bean, then you could use Garwynn's kernel version 0.4.1 which has CWM instead of Agat's recovery.
 
I am really happy with the Stock Rooted ROM I have. I love TouchWiz and don't want to change it at all. I am just not really able to get some things to flash right w/ AGAT so I really just want the stock rooted w/ CWM so that I may have better luck with some tweak flashing.
 
You can use this kernel on GC01. Version 0.4.1 will have CWM as its recovery. Yes it says GB27, but that is the same ROM as GC01 so works fine. Do note that this kernel does not support over clock, but you can get tegrak overclock to work as it has its own module that it loads in. You can also flip seamlessly between this kernel and Agats 1.4.2 kernel with Mobile Odin quickly with only a reboot in between.

Do I want to Flash the .zip in recovery or use the .tar w/ Mobile Odin?

Turns out my device likes the .zip method better. I couldn't get it to take via Mobile Odin. Flashing the .zip through recovery worked perfectly.

I have done it both ways just fine. I happen to like flashing the tar file with Mobile Odin because it is quicker. I keep both the tar files and the zip files on my sdcard
 
I DID IT!!!

I finally just stuck with learning stuff and got a working AIO flashable zip.
Work with Deodexed TW roms, I personally have the stock one installed.

It's the one from here GB27 All in one Mod V4.5 Updated 08-11-13 - xda-developers only I replaced some icons with stock samsung looking icons.
Some like the fancy icons I'm kinda partial to stock ones myself, but it's all preference really.
It's all stock looking, only now I have 3minit+quickpanel toggles now, and I can mix and match what toggles I want to use via the notification bar.

Took me a bit but I finally got it done, I'm pretty happy today :).

CJ, just a quick question, you said Garwynn's kernel version 0.4.1 has cwm in it? so will that work with TW roms? I was under the understanding that no cwm recovery will work with TW roms.
I also have SXTP_Agat_BSTFL24-v0.2.0 kernel and will work with TW, but does that have cwm?
 
0.4.1 has CWM that was redone to handle TW jelly Bean by Garwynn. I have run a nandroid backup and restore on it successfully. Version 0.5.0 is back on Agat's recovery.
