Awesome show. Id LOVE this as a boot image.. How to do it? I saw theres an easy way to make static boot images.. But what about a .gif?
Follow along with the video below to see how to install our site as a web app on your home screen.
Note: This feature may not be available in some browsers.
Ive tried:
1.) renaming the images,
2.) saving them as .jpegs and .pngs,
3.) Changed the compression of the .zip(supposed to be no compression),
4.) Changing manually in system/media.
5.) Using that app from the play store,
6.) And using pacmans built in boot changer under "ROM Control" in settings.
Every one seems to just give a black screen. I dont get it. Has anyone else tried to copy this over to their phone? Does it give the same results?

Yeah I tried setting the permissions to the same as the old one. Weird. Maybe pacman doesnt like user made boot animations.
One more thing: where are you saving the zip and what are you naming it?
My system/customize/resource folder has always had SPC_bootanimation.zip (which is what actually displays at boot) and hTC_bootanimation.zip (which does nothing).
In the app I mentioned you can change the install location/name.
(sorry if this is already obvious info, but I always had trouble until I used SPC)
Nice!!! You should make that your avatar Love that show.
I'm using PAC as well. It worked fine for me the first time. :/ So the the one you originally made started working or did you download the one I made?
I just followed this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1852621
as it was my first attempt at a boot animation...
You can see the contents of the zip I made. But the only place I could see where there may be trouble was in the compression. Not sure exactly how you zipped it, but I used 7-zip and set the compression mode to "Store".
I don't see where else any problems could really arise. I downloaded a couple different boot animations to compare. Didn't matter what the images were named as long as they ended in the proper number sequence it seems. Jpg vs Png doesn't seem to matter. My only guess is somewhere in the compression?
Maybe it had to do with the way we decompiled the gif?
