Just bought the LG Volt from RS the Boost Mobile version, can't root it yet till a few weeks from now cause it has the V4 software. But every time I restart it I get this annoying HANDS FREE ACTIVATION screen and it takes a few minutes for it to time out. I dont want to activate it yet just want to use it in wifi m,ode for know. How can I turn off that HANDS FREE ACTIVATION permanently ? Any tweaks or tricks ?

thanks

I would like to know this as well. For now I just long press the minimize button and swipe it closed.

In my case after a handful of tries it gave up on its own. I was able to manually activate it (I used an operator to activate but have no reason to believe I couldn't have done it via the phone or web).

i would suggest getting an app killer in the market.. but since it opens up and it is not notification then i cant really say anything.. if it IS notifications you can always turn them off in the settings>app >(name of app) menu

After some experimentation, I found that if you root the phone, you can freeze/disable "com.qualcomm.qcrilmsgtunnel" with a third-party app manager (i.e. JRummy's Ultimate Backup or ROM Toolbox Lite). However, I'm not sure what other normal phone functions it affects. AFAIK, it works for me.

Just hit Activate, Are you replacing a phone? (No), Then cancel the setup app. I've been doing this for awhile since I got a Tmobile iPhone 5 for $50! :P
Or you can disable the Mobile Data switch in the Settings...

For a phone being used without cellular service, I first disabled com.qualcomm.qcrilmsgtunnel and then since it still kept bugging me, I removed the SIM card. It hasn't asked since, even after a reboot.

Installed "kingroot" and uninstalled "com.qualcomm.qcrilmsgtunnel" . Now there is no activation pop up. Thank you.

Hi, I installed Kingroot but it still won't allow me to freeze or delete "com.qualcomm.qcrilmsgtunnel".
What are the actual steps to take?
Thanks

Get rid of kingroot. There's no need for it and it's highly suspicious.

Just use the guide in the rooting forum to root, then use Link2SD to freeze it.

Thanks I did unroot & got rid of kingroot it was too buggy.

I thought freezing the app would do the same thing.
Sometimes...I've seen frozen apps run before. It's always worth trying, of course, but it seems that freezing isn't as fully a shut down as it might seem. This is why you can sometimes freeze an app that can't be removed. I think freezing just stops it from running itself, but other apps can still call it.

Maybe try freezing LGSetupWizard. It's always been frozen on my phone even though I've never froze it.

Freeze "com.qualcomm.qcrilmsgtunnel", worked for me

Thank you for this way, it worked for me too.

If you are rooted, JUST install Rom toolbox lite apk and open it and from the tools screen, select app manager option then click on "com.qualcomm.qcrilmsgtunnel" and select your action as freeze.
