Help How to turn off location services

New user here. Got to playing around with gps and now have the target symbol upper right next to the signal strenth.

I go to settings and location and all three are turned off - vzw, standalone, google.

I want that gps symbol to go away. How do I turn whatever that is off?

Thanks

Ok, I guess I'm still confused. What is the scope reticle looking symbol to the immediate left of the signal strength? What does that mean and why is it there?

Thanks

It means you E911 location is turned on (It's always turned on. It just lets the Police, EMS, and Fire and rescue find your phone in an emergency.) If you have any of the location services (google, verizon, GPS) on, you'll see 3 curved lines on the right of the reticle (I think it's a map location symbol).

Why is it there? I don't really know. But it is.

Ahh, that's right, I forgot about the 911 deal. Thanks
