Root How to unroot 2.1

Are there any directions on unrooting a phone from 2.1?

I see directions for 2.2 downgrade/unroot..

I just don't want to install an unnecessary file that will brick my phone since I'm already 2.1

(I tried to install the OTA with a rooted 2.1 and it did not work - now I am on 2.1 after rebooting with "system up to date" :( )

all you really have to do to unroot is delete busybox, su, superuser.apk, and what ever the other file was off the phone.

How do I do that? I went to manage applications and there is no option to uninstall the superuser application?

I think I did it... Everything is wiped and it's downloading the 2.2 OTA again.

LOL this is fun!!

<blows brains out>

If I was a developer I would probably become a full fledged alcoholic.

(After downloading and pressing install on the 2.2 OTA)

ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.05
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted.

:(

I'll try flashing another ZIP and see if that works.

Hopefully I don't brick.

Okay this time the PB31IMG worked when I loaded it onto my SD Card and restarted phone in HBOOT.

It installed the stock 2.1 again.

Now downloading the 2.2 OTA for the 3rd time..

I think it's going to work this time! (probably not)

Congratulations!

Your phone has been updated successfully to version 3.21.605.1!!!!!!

Thank god... whew. Froyo works now.

Android 2.2, Baseband 2.15.00.07.28
