How to unroot Hero?

I just rooted my sprint htc hero and am having SO much problems. i rooted hoping to get rid of lag but its still there even with fresh 2.1.2..How can i unroot? i was running 2.1 before i rooted with this method: [GUIDE] How to Root Sprint 2.1 Release for CDMA Hero - Page 46 - xda-developers

make sure you cleared private data before flashing to fresh 2.1.2. ive had no problems after doing this. but if you must download any official RUU from sprint or htc and it will remove root

thanks man, that really helped. i just downloaded the most recent update off HTC's website and it cleared the root. i didnt do this in the first step because the guy who posted the root directions said to enter a code at the end and it will make the root permanent...guess not

It really just makes it so your phone will not download OTA updates that might fix the root hole. Running the RUU will always un-root.
