Help How to update Android Market

tried everything I could find. Even did a factory reset. Still will not update to latest version. For the record, my other phone that was purchased at the same time, upgrade to the lasted version 2002013?? what ever the version is with the Relate tab. Apparently, according to Google Android support, this is a big problem. Not just a Samsung issue.

Finally got a chance to post...Did a factory reset on 12/8 and the very next day, the market updated to 2002013. That same phone would intermittently shut down once every day or two. That has not happened since the reset.

Tried it. No dice.

I updated the market by this method. menu->settings->applications->manage applications->all->market->clear cache->clear data->force stop-> exit to home screen->relaunch market-> accept terms and conditions. Done.
this worked for my motorola Droid 1

Ok, I'm going to go for the dumb question of the thread award. How do you tell if it's upgraded? FahdR's link tells how to check the version, but not what the version is. Mine doesn't look like the "1714" or "2002012".

i am rooted and flashed cog...i did that
Menu -> Settings -> Applications -> Manage applications -> Menu -> Filter -> All -> Market -> Clear data(not cache). Re-launch it, and you should have the "Related" tab.

when u relaunch it, it should show u aggreement screen when u accept the terms...

Thanks a TON for this. I had to reset my phone with Odin3 after a bit too much tweaking and after updating to Froyo again the Market wouldn't update no matter what else I tried. (The official Android help site suggestion of just quitting and waiting was utterly useless.) Thanks again! :)
