How to update firmware?

So, my Optimus One software version is 10A and as I've heard, it's not the latest one. However, when I plug the phone in, and start PC Suite IV it says there are no updates. LGMobile update says my model cannot be updated (says it's not supported for some reason)...

I'm in Italy, but the phone is not branded with any operator. Am I doing something wrong?

i updated the software once in january or december but i don't know the firmware version. yesterday i got a message that there is a new update available but when i tried to update i got an error and now my phone is in service.
so there are some updates, i got my phone in december if yours is newer maybe you have the updates (i doubt that) ..
