How to update to New Market without sideloading

Settings>Applications>Manage applications>Market...choose uninstall updates then wait a little to open your Market. Once you open the market close it. Open it again and close it again. Wait and your phone should lag a little when you try to re-open the Market and then it should be updated.

I tried that...didn't work for me...any other ideas...it shows up the first time I open are installing updated, but not the second...tried several times...can you think of anything else I could try?
