Help How To Use Full Picture As Wallpaper?

Use Quickpic as your default gallery browser. It handles it without cropping

Yeah...I can see how. It'd have to be a smaller dimension than we are used to. I just tried it and it does give you a bigger size than the stock crop system allows, but it'll have to be a smaller and more rectangular picture. I'm betting the if it's a rectangular picture, the sky is the limit when it comes to big and small because the crop crops in a square and not a weird rectangle which allows more room. Thank you! I think we found a winner.

GAHHHHHH....Scratch that. I just tried it on a smaller picture and yeah, it appears to be bigger but then it just shows the same picture on every page. There is absolutely no change as in it transitions from page to page...I really hate this "feature" :(

Hmmm, that is strange. I used Go Launcher on my Galaxy Captivate and was able to select a photo from the Gallery and use it as a scrollable wallpaper. Yet that doesn't seem to work on the Galaxy S3 using Go Launcher.

did the captivate have wallpaper scrolling??

I'm not sure if TouchWiz supported it (I don't think so) but I was using Go Launcher and it supported it on my Captivate and also supports it on the Galaxy S3. But on the Captivate I could use a picture from my gallery where as on the Galaxy S3 it forces me to crop gallery pictures and behaves oddly as my screenshots showed in my previous post. *shrug*

I use go launcher and wallpaper will not scroll (has to be cropped) when selected from gallery, however like someone else if I select from Zedge then it works.

Strangely if I save the Zedge wallpaper to gallery and select from there, no scroll!

When you save it from Zedge to your Gallery, it probably changes the dimensions of the picture which might cause a no scroll. Or Zedge has a way of automatically sizing the picture just right so that you can use it for a background.

I don't think you are doing it right. While in Quickpic:
Select image
Set As
Quickpick Wallpaper
There should be no cropping needed. The dimensions are pushed out fully.

Also, Im using Go Launcher

it forces you to crop the picture because the gallery doesn't know you're using a launcher that supports wallpaper scrolling...frankly the gallery probably doesn't even know what wallpaper scrolling is so its forcing you to crop the image to 720x1280 (or at least a 9:16 aspect ratio) to fit a single screen

The only way to do this with little to no cropping is to take the picture with the phone vertically (portrait) and not horizontally (landscape).

I can give you an example............this is a picture of a bird and it's native size is 1024H by 692W. That is not even close to being the correct size for the S3 screen but Multipicture Live Wallpaper will allow you to custom resize and crop so it works well on the S3 screen.

OK Lennydude,

Where did you get that photo of that bird? It's really nice...

ok, but the question does the app actually work??? i thought a few other in this thread claimed it didnt? i hate downloading something and it just doesn't work lol

Well, luckily, most (if not all) of the apps suggested here are free. The only thing you'd probably be wasting is time and data if you don't have an unlimited data plan and even then you can use WiFi. I've tried mostly everyone's suggestions, and it helps to know which ones work and which don't for yourself.

The only way to do this with little to no cropping is to take the picture with the phone vertically (portrait) and not horizontally (landscape).

I tried that on pretty much every app as well as the stock "set as" option and neither does anything. Either the whole picture and the crop turn sideways and makes the same picture as before or it doesn't tilt at all. Either way...I remember that tilting it does not work. :(

I've pretty much given up on achieving this. The only way to truly achieve this is to use a different launcher or tweak settings in all different directions until it works out like some people have done.

I am against getting a third party launcher because I like my launcher look and the ICS feel which many launchers take away from the experience. However, APEX is a fairly good launcher that doesn't take away from the ICS look and feel. It's how the Nexus looks.

Wallpaper Set & Save, Wallpaper Wizardrii, Wallpapyrus

Is "Wallpapyrus" an app? I'm not finding it on the Play Store. I've got "Wallpaper Wizardrii" and will use "Wallpaper Set & Save" later. But I'd like to know about "Wallpapyrus"

EDIT: "Wallpaper Set & Save" doesn't work for me. It didn't even set the wallpaper that I asked it to set.

Wallpapyrus was removed from Play Store, I posted the apk somewhere, check my posts and you will find it.

WS&S has worked for me for over 2 years now. You must be doing sth wrong.

Might be late for this, but has anybody found a solution? cant seem to set a lock screen without cropping my picture.

Here is an app I found on a different forum that may help https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=lwp.superluminar.swallpaper&feature=sea rch_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImx3cC5zdXBlcmx1bWlu YXIuc3dhbGxwYXBlciJd

I believe what it does is treats the static wall paper as a live wallpaper and assigns the same gestures you use to scroll your home screens to scroll the wallpaper left and right. Works pretty good in my opinion and doesn't eat battery.

Don't know if it's applicable to the lockscreen as I haven't tried that.
