Help How to use Gmail APP and disable HTC Mail?

I much prefer the Gmail mail app for the way it looks, and easier to delete mails and can use stars/labels.

How do I disable HTC google mail?

Just remove the account(s) from the mail app.

If you want to be able to handle attachments (which the gmail app sucks at). You can leave the account(s) in the Mail app and just turn off polling for the accounts (set them up to only dl manually).
